Jonathan Chieppor brings powerful courtroom experience and a strong commitment to client advocacy to our practice. A graduate of Temple University’s Beasley School of Law with a focus on trial advocacy and business litigation, Chieppor began his legal career in the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office. There, he quickly rose through the ranks as he handled everything from juvenile offenses to severe felonies. He served as lead prosecutor for the Lancaster County Auto Theft Task Force and was undefeated in DUI trials as a member of the county’s DUI team.
In 2020, Chieppor co-founded Chieppor & Egner LLC to provide aggressive, strategic criminal defense in the Lancaster area. Known for his deep knowledge of the justice system and his approachable, respectful manner, Jonathan receives many referrals from former clients, fellow attorneys, and court officials. His reputation for tireless representation and dependable results makes him a trusted advocate during life’s most stressful moments.
Alexander Egner draws on a unique background as a former prosecutor and Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army to deliver sharp, experienced defense representation. A graduate of Penn State’s Dickinson Law, Egner began his legal career in the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office. There, he handled a wide range of complex cases in units focused on DUI cases, domestic violence, juvenile offenses, and more. He also led divisions addressing expungements, welfare fraud, and small games of chance violations.
Egner’s earlier academic foundation includes a master’s in history from Liberty University and a rare triple major from Dickinson College. Today, he’s known for winning dismissals and acquittals in Lancaster across Pennsylvania courtrooms. Since launching Chieppor & Egner LLC in 2020, he has built a statewide reputation for courtroom excellence and relentless defense work. Many clients come by referral from legal professionals, community leaders, and grateful past clients who trust his tenacity and integrity.
About the Super Lawyers and Rising Stars Selection Process
The Super Lawyers and Rising Stars selection process begins with peer nominations and independent research. Lawyers can nominate colleagues they’ve seen in action, while other nominations come from the Super Lawyers research team. The organization then evaluates each nominee on 12 professional achievement and peer recognition indicators. Indicators include each nominee’s trial results, honors, certifications, pro bono work, and leadership roles.
Next, the top-scoring candidates undergo peer review by a blue-ribbon panel of highly rated attorneys in their practice area. The panel groups finalists by firm size and compares nominees with similarly situated peers. Only the highest-rated nominees in each firm size group receive Super Lawyers or Rising Stars honors. To qualify for Rising Stars, a lawyer must be 40 or younger or have been in practice for fewer than 10 years. Only the top 2.5 percent of eligible attorneys in each state earn the Rising Stars distinction.
